Generally speaking, German Shepherds get along well with other dogs and small animals (cats, rabbits etc) in the home but can be wary of other people and dogs outside. This is usually due to their instincts to guard and protect their family, and can be exacerbated if they’ve been around too many unfamiliar people/dogs or haven’t been socialised properly as puppies (especially before 16 weeks old).
